Tailgate window wont open

i was wondering if any of u could shine some light on this problem.. one day i came out to my car and tried to open the glass on the tailgate and it wouldnt open.. i went around back and used the key and it works but the button doesn't..

Busted button, busted actuator, loss of ground, loss of + power, busted wire, busted or dirty connection.

Most likely a dirty fouled connection, but it will take an examination of the circuit. If you live in a hot, cold wet area the terminations wear just being there.

well recently i had changed my rear wiper moter and when they took the motor off it worked but when they put the new one on it stoped again

well the shop that fixed the motor says they have no idea... but its not their fault it stopped working before they even did the motor.. but the minute they had the motor off i tried it and it worked

If it is still a no go, open the rear up and look for a bad connection and while there lubricate that rear wiper. It is not a waste of your time.

Sorry to open up an old post but i went in and check and all connectors were tight. Im still not sure.

Is there a way you could measure voltage across the actuator?

Remove the rear door trim and make sure all the lock rods are in place if you haven't yet. See BT-17 of the FSM for some diagrams.

Since I have owned my 2000 PATHI, I have oopened it with a key only.

It is my biggest pet peeve.

My remote doesn't even have a window button.

It has "lock," "unlocl" and panic on it.

I wish I could open the window with remote or even through a latch inside...
