Also, I have changed fuses and light bulbs for my taillights many times but the fuses keep blowing. Also my dashboard lights quit working after my taillights quit. (I'm guessing the problems are related).....I want to disconnect the battery cable and check to see if any wires are loose. Where can I find the wires for the taillights and the dashboard? How do I get to them?

If you would search. First thing, take out your CD player you probably recently wired in and wrap up ALL the wires. Make sure they are not showing. Come back once you have completed this task.

Or if you recently unhooked a sub or a number of subs make sure you wrap the ends with electrical tape. And also do what that guy said ^

I just had the EXACT same problem after I installed my aftermarket CD player, the problem was there was a short in the wiring and it ended up being withing the CD player wiring. Dad did most the wiring work so I cant be more specific, sorry. Hope I helped a little though.

I'm going out to go test my driver side tail lights, I had to re-wire the white bulb holder since the wiring was hacked.here's what happens. all lights off-not pressing the brake: nothing, duh.pressing the brake: they all light up, but both bulbs on the driver side are dimmer than all the others.

parking lights/headlights are on-not pressing the brake: both tail lights on same brightness.pressing the brake: the driver side lights go completely out, the others are fine.

I've gotten pulled over twice in the last two weeks and I know they've been working great since I rewired them last fall. AND I installed my stereo about 4 years ago.I'm heading out right now with my multimeter to see what voltages I find or any other oddities.

I do not have a CD player and I have not recently wired in anything or had it wired. How do I disconnect the battery so that I can safely checck the wiring??? and I know the wires are in the trunk and they are wrapped in electrical tape. How can I tell if there is a short in the wiring??Thank you!

Man that is not only a very stupid thing to do it's really unsafe! I've seen stuff start on fire from people doing crap like that. Fix things the proper way or send it to someone who know's what they're doing.

What he said. I'm pretty sure Nissan used a 10a fuse for a reason.... like not to blow up any circuits!
