tail lights dont work

hi everyone im new to the site, just bought a 1990 sentra for $100 and everything works but the tail lights. i have checked the fuses and the bulbs and still nothing! any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Volt meter to the leads and see if you even getting juice to the tail lights.

And if you're getting NO power there, then check your headlight switch. Sometimes the contact prongs either get oxidized or out-of-shape and don't make a proper connection.

I had this problem before It's the rubber piece for the brake pedal that is made out of rubber and is located between the brake pedal and the switch and the rubber piece goes between them and the rubber stopper switch came apart. So, I went to the dealer and got a new "rubber stopper switch" that cost only $4.95. it looks like a size or a penny but it's made out of hard rubber. :wavey:
