Tail light tint with red ring??

Hi..I'm wanting to tint my tail lights and I know how to do it but I'm wondering if I should leave a red ring standing out if anyone knows what I mean..I've seen it before and partly I wanna do this to not get pulled over and also if it looks good..has anyone done this and have pics or have any other ideas in order to not get pulled over cuz I've got an exhaust loud enough to already pull me over if someone can help that'd be great thanks!!

I did that on my coupe awhile back when I got a ticket for not being able to see the taillights. I had mine painted black so all we did was take off the paint then tape and mask what I wanted to leave red. they haven't really held up so well because we did it in a hurry but the first time which I used for like a year and half held up perfectly.

A few days after my exhaust fell off when I hit a bump. My car is in a shop getting a new clutch so I'll take more pics when I get it back.

Oh yeah also make sure your exhaust is welded on not jutted bolted.

Haha well that sucks but the tail lights look awesome! What was the process you did and what did you buy? I was thinking maybe just buying a tint and cutting it but if I screw up then it's a waste..have you been pulled over at all with this now?

I honestly don't remember but it was something like primer for plastic and black paint. My cousin worked for his dad in a bodyshop so he had everything and did mostly everything too. I haven't but when I redo them I'm going to either make them less dark or leave something for the turn signal.

I wonder how that would look..maybe a bit too patchey I like how you did it here it has a black ring too I see in the middle very nice..but if I get pulled over for this and it turns oit that this is legal can they still question other tthings?
