Hey guys, need some help on replacing a cracked passenger side tail light on my 2003 QX4. I am having trouble reaching the wiring connection and am pretty sure that I am going to have to go through the interior paneling. Any idea on the easiest way to do this? Thanks!

its 2 phillips screws easily visible on the tail light, then you have to pull the entire light assy straight back (its secured with two more locking pins) give it some muscle.

You dont have to go through any interior paneling.

<< If you look at the picture to the left, thats a tail lite from a junkyard.

Did that, but the wiring connection will not come out far enough to disconnect/reconnect. Ideas?

you should just twist/unplug the socket right where it goes into the tail light?

Is the socket or wiring damaged for some reason? If not, just re-use the old wiring harness and plug the sockets into the new tail light.

You can replace that rear-most section of wiring harness too, its easy its connected with just a plug about 12 inches away from the bulb sockets, i took that from the junkyard too it was easy, didnt have to go through any panels. But if the wiring is fine, then whats the point.

Not trying to replace the wiring. Just trying to plug the new tail light in. The plug feels like it is located behind the paneling and I can't pull it out far enough to get to it. Ideas?

the plugs that go into the tail light, simply twist out. so you will then have removed the bare cracked tail light, and the (2) bulbs and sockets will be hanging by the wires from your car. Then you take the new tail light and just twist the bulbs, in their sockets, into the new light.

you dont have to get at the plug in the paneling for any reason.
