Tail light replacement help

Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I just bought a new Versa and I've been giving the thought to replacing the tail lights with some cool new ones. I don't really want to pay $85-100 an hour to have someone change those out for me, if I can avoid it.

Has anyone done this, or can anyone walk me through the process of replacing the tail light assemblies, so I can get an idea of how complicated it is?

If the 'cool' ones are the ones off Ebay, don't do it! They are cheap, dont fit correctly, and will most likely turn into fish tanks within a year. And if you don't feel comfortable smoking your own lenses, versaspeed.com offers pre-smoked lenses that fit correctly (because they were made from actual OEM lenses).

Thanks for the reply, CodeRed. I was in fact looking at some of the eBay tail lights, unless you know anyplace more reputable that sells them. I just wanted to try and do a few things to personalize my car, you know?

The smoked lenses sound kind of cool but I haven't been able to find any really good pictures of the finished product (with tail lights on and off) to see how they look. There's the one close-up, but do you know any way to see a shot of kind of the whole Versa rear end with the smoked lenses?

Those look sharp; any idea how many coats that is? My only concern with the smoking is that some states are pretty strict about tinting over the reflectors and the added risk of being rear-ended by some idiot who'll claim it's your fault.

With regards to your tutorial; do you have any idea, or did you ever figure out, what size socket wrench you used to remove the tail lights? I'd have to pick one up and I can't really trial and error before doing so.
