It's amber when it's lit. There's a special silver coating on amber bulb. You will pass inspection with no problem. It adds cool looking to the rear end.ishkabibble wrote:Thanks, I'll see if Autozone has those 1157s in red.

I see. I don't mind the spot of amber on a red car, but if I had different color paint, I'd probably think it looked bad. Def going with the red 1157s though.

Remove the plastic panel in the trunk that's held down but little plastic screw/rivit things. You can pop these out with a flat-head screw driver and pliers. Be careful, you'll need them again.
Once the back plastic panel is removed take off all the 8mm nuts you see holding the tail lights and "240SX" bottom peice in place. You need to take this trim peice off to have better leverage when removing the lights.
