tail light lense removal

ok, i got my tail lights off, i'm tryig to disassemble them further now.

anyone know a place that can show me how to take them apart?

also, is the black sealant "goo" necessary?

there are lil tabs that look like u can press them in and snap the lens off...i just wanna make sure it's the good kinda snap...not the "replacement lens is in the mail" kinda snap

i was actually serious. i know people do that for the headlights so i figured the taillights are the same. and all that black goo is pain in the arse.

well now my tails are on my dinner table on top of some news paper, awaitign their custom treatment...i jus dont know what that custom treatment is yet...lol

Just to answer your earlier question about the black gew around your taillights, that is very important, unless you want to turn your trunk in to a portable swimming pool. Thats what keeps the water from running in. So make sure that you have a good seal all the way around your lamps when you put them back in.
