Just recently installed a "Pro Start" remote start made by fortress automotive security. I hooked it up to the specifications a few months ago and recently noticed I am having a tail light issue. The remote start works great and all the lights work until I depress the break, then the tail lights stop working while all the other lights remain in working order. So when I hit the remote start and turn the key so I can drive the tail lights are working but when I hit the brakes my tail lights go out and everything else works the whole time except the tail lights. I don't know how long the issue has been going on, I was just recently told my tail lights were not working. (Also when I start the car manually the tail lights do not come on at all) I have checked the fuses and the ground wire to the remote start and that doesn't seem to be the issue, I'm not sure what the problem is, just wanted to see if anyone has any In site? before I call the manufacture of the remote start to troubleshoot. But it's Sunday of coarse

Sorry that it's a problem that brought you here, but I'm glad you found us!

Have you checked to see if ProStart (I've never heard of them) has an online troubleshooting guide? That would be a good place to start, if only to skip through the typical troubleshooting script you'll have to run through if you get in contact with an actual human.

When you say that that after you hit the brake that the tail lights go out and don't work, is this only the running lights or do the brake lights not function either?

Welcome to NICO! :badger

Thanks I finally figured it out reading other post. Turns out there is another fuse panel behind the battery with the burnt fuse I needed to replace. It threw me off not finding any fuses blown in the kick panel an the tail lights would turn on with the initial start up from my remote start until I would press the brakes resetting the remote causing the parking lights/ tail lights to go out but That's why I thought it might be my remote start. My brakes remained in working order
