tail light help!

Ok guys so i got all the wiring dont on my motor after i put it back in (ka24e) but comming off the fuse box there are two wires one for the altenator and one ground i believe there both white and or black and not connected to the motor harness.. please correct me if im wrong it might help, but anyways the headlights turn on and the starter works when i place the ground one on the ground but nothing else works then when its not on ground the oil and battery lights come one. all fuses have been checked but no power except to bottom right one and the audio anyone know was going on help would be greatly appreciated btw its a s13 1989 240sx hatch
