New from

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

used will be a crapshoot if you can't find a real low mileage one.

Someone used something other than OEM or Sylvania LL bulbs.

Call them and they will tell you. I bet the lamp is only available as the whole assembly.

I went out and pulled the Brake Lamp Modules from my 90Q and there is no P/N stamped on the module. Strange. Normally a part that large will have the 10 digit Nissan or Infiniti P/N. As I recall they are in the $40-$50 price range so if you're good at soldering (not crimping) you could splice in new sockets purchased from an auto parts store for a fraction of the cost.

Unless you see obvious burnthrough, melting, or burnt wires in the socket assembly you might try replacing just the bulbs first with Sylvania Long Life.

Can I just tag on to this issue, it's sort of related...

2000Q45t (no the intermittent hickup/misfire is not resolved yet)...

I'm getting the idiot light on the dash telling me a brake light is burnt out when I step on the brakes. I had my wife step on the brakes while I stood behind the car and all of the bulbs arelighting up (yes, BOTH of the high mount bulbs are too).

When I first bought the car and had it to the dealer to replace the broken trunk modulatorand cut me a master key, I asked them to check it and they said there was not a problem.

Any thoughts, ideas???

Thanks

Kevin

Here is the bulb mamtra: use only OEM or Sylvania LL. Other cheap azz Chinese ones will draw too much current and melt your sockets and cause the lamp inoperative display.

The corollary is to replace them every few years to avoid overheating the sockets and starting meltdown.
