Tail bulb has 3 wires, which does drive, other does brake...

Hey guys, quick question as I cant find anything in the FSM refering to the function of the taillight itself. On the QX4, it is a 2 bulb setup in the taillight. Top 2 wire bulb does signal, and bottom bulb does drive/brake

One is a green/white, one is a green yellow

Which does drive light, which does brake?

'01 QX4 FSM, page EL-65 shows tail lights as purple with black stripe, stop lights green with yellow stripe.

Thats weird, definetely no purple here. Just black, grn/ylw, grn/wht

Do I possibly need a 2001.5 manual??

Dunno what you are trying to figure out, but I'd guess that G/Y is the stop light.

Another thing to check is what is the color of the wire going to the license plate light. That will probably be the same color
as the tail lights.

I have a manual that covers both 2001 and 2001.5. It shows the same color code for both. It says:

Smart entrance control unit has been changed.
I The SMART C/U - PREVIOUS is applicable for the 2WD models up to serial number 567231 and for the
4WD models up to serial number 584967.
I The SMART C/U - NEW is applicable for the 2WD models from serial number 567231 and for the 4WD
models from serial number 584967.

That is weird, it should be Green/Yellow for stop and Purple/Black for running lamps. I would take Chucks suggestion, Green/Yellow is most definitely for stop lamps.
