tail bed lights?

in show trucks i see the tailbed has nice lights higher up like this http://memimage.cardomain.com/...e.jpg

do i have to do a whole tailbed switch to get the lights how i want them to look and if i do what tailbeds can i use? to switch

The lights are different for the different production year. the one shown is 83 to 85 california. the 80 to 82 carry the lights in the finisher below the tailgate. to change a good body man could do it once you have the necessary cut from another truck.

yeah... mine are in the same as in the top picture but the lenses are even different still

mine are all red with the small clear reverse at the bottom.... of course now they're just all black but yeah

mine look exactly like the first ones with the chrome going around them and the ember lights on top....its an 84

i might want to switch to those style, there more common, only junkyard i found so far that has them is in WA. and they want $50 a pop. f*** that

You can try the local parts store but you will spend about $100 each, if they can even find them.

What bumper are you using or did you remove it?

Just for reference...80-82 had the horizontal, below tailgate tail lights, 83-84 had the red and orange tail lights with the reverse lights in the rollpan/bumper, and 85-86 had the red and white tail lights with no lights in rollpan. Correct me if i'm wrong.

83 onwards had both The red and amber, and the red and white lights. It all depended where you were located. In the red and white, the red acts as both stop and turn where in the red and amber the stop and turn are individual lights. In my 85 I have no reverse light, although the gearbox has the switch for it.

The roll pan as you call it is the rear lower valance and yes they are the same from 83 onwards. Pezi does not have one on his 720. Less draught, right Pezi?

for sure!yeah i remembered looking at a pic of his truck a while back and it was removed..it does help with drag..alot of the tards where i live wouldnt know what the heck i was talking about if i said valance now at the body shop if i called it a roll pan they make me clean the exhaust fan for the paint booth....lame..
