So today i did the tail as turn mod on my 56. It wasn't to difficult to do and only took me around 40 minutes.
To do this you will need the following:
Tail as Turn mod from Diode-dynamics along with the led resistor kit that they sell
https://www.diodedynamics.com/tail-as-t ... e-diy.html
Wire stripper and crimper
power probe
Step 1: remove the trunk trim around the tail lights to get access to the wiring harness.
Step 2: Disconnect the harness to get access to the plug pins. The plugs are 1-4 left-right
1-Ground 2-Turn signal 3-Brake 4-reverse
Step 3: cut the turn signal wire and brake wire and strip them
step 4: Insert the turn signal wire into the yellow cable and the brake into the red cable on the turn by tail module and using the crimping tool squeeze the ends together.
that way the cables will not fall out and you have a solid connection
After that, take the other end of the brake cable that's on the side of the harness plug and insert it into the wire crimp connector on the other end of the module.
There will only be one cable on that side of the module
Test your turn signals to see if they work, They will be hyper flashing which is why we have the resistors to fix that.
Step 5: Take the LED resistor and with the included T-taps, marry one end of the resistor to the black ground cable (terminal 1) and the other end further into the turn signal cable (preferably before the module connection).
This will solve your hyper flashing issue
REMEMBER: The resistor will get super hot so make sure you mount it in an area not near other cables or trunk liner fabrics
The steps for the other light are the same, the wire colors will be different, but the pins are the same.

Have a good one!
