Hey guys,

I got the 96 Q (Canadian Spec) and, while these problems had been there since the purchase it's getting more and more annoying as the rest of the car is getting back into shape with my TLC.

So, what gives? Tachometer only reads to about 1.5k rpm and then it will not go any further up... the needle seems to be slipping off the stepper motor or something but it is failing to register anything over 1.5...

Then there's the odometer, it used to not budge at all and stuck at 130606km. Now after some driving I noticed that it's working again, but the ratio is not 1:1...the trip meter could register a few dozens of km before the odometer moves by 1km.... Is that a common problem with these cars? Other than replacing the gauge cluster do you have a different solution you suggest that I should try first??

I just realized I spelt tachometer with a taco. No seriously no one else seen this symptom? My car now reads 130694 but I drove like 2000+ km since I bought it....
