hey, guys, help me out here!i just got a 95' 240sx from some private seller. the miltage is about 11kand it runs pretty well. but the tachometer is a bit crazy. when i hit thegas with normal pressure (gradually accelerating...), it would reach 4,000or 5,000 rpm. if i hit it hard, it would reach the red zone quickly... andthe sound of the engine is large. then it would go back between 5,000 and 6,000rpm. (and it reads around 4,000rpm when at parking shift) is thissituation normal for a 95' 240sx :ylsuper :help :help :help

As far as my experience has gone with some of my tach problems... Mine might have done something similar to what you are discribing. But that was after I cleaned the MAF and the throttle plate... I don't know what caused it but after running the car a little and turning it off and on a few times it fixed itself...

Also in my case the engine wasn't revving as high as the tach said. I don't know if that is the problem you're experiencing but some more information would be helpful.
