tachometer nightmare

cant get tach to function in my 91 hatch sr20det motor with haltech....i tried new tachs new clusters jdm tach in original cluster .....im out of options and sick of searching the forum any ideas???? i forgot to mention that the tach worked when i got the car stoped when i had a friend rip out msd ignition for ls1 coils and the newer tachs i tried work but not correctly way way way low rpms are detected by the tach when im clearly reved out

I would suspect how the coils are wired...but than again tach signal is from the ecu straight to the cluster so maybe not if the car runs fine. Look at my "how to s13 gauge wiring " I did in my posts.
