On most Viper alarms you can learn the tach this way:

Start car with key, within 5 seconds of starting car push and hold in valet swtich until LED illuminates solid. Once the LED inlluminates then the tach is learned, then try and remote start it. I think you need a door open while you do this, thus needing the door pin wire hooked up.

Furthermore make sure you have tagged a good tach wire, test it by using the alternating voltage setting on your multimeter and look for a signal that changes while the engine is revved. You can usually just tag an injector wire for the tach wire, test it first. Sorry if you already knew all this.

thx ill try the multimeter thing...i already tried the 5 second thing with the valet button. i thought the tach wire at the computer is supposed to read like 6-7 volts ac. i found that wire and tapped into it with the tach input wire but it still wont learn the tach...hgmmmmmrhmasgmaskda

NOte: The car won't stay running without the tach signal.

I've never worked with tha tparticular car. Does it have a tach built into the cluster? If so you can tap that. Just check the wires underneath the dash coming from the cluster.
