I've been working on my Z for a while now and one thing that I've been unable to resolve is the issue with my tachometer. Occasionally when I start the car the tachometer will not work, but after a few miles of driving it will start working. I also have found that the tachometer will not go over 5 grand.

Last weekend, I removed the gauges so that I could replace the light bulbs. While I had the area open I looked around to see if there was any noticeable issues with the wiring but didn't see anything. I know that the tachometer is ran electronically so I'm assuming that there is an issue the wiring someplace. Does anyone have experience with the electrical side of things?

Just for reference, the car set for about 3 years with minimal usage. I'm guessing that it was home to several mice as I've had to clean out the trunk from shredded paper.
