Single wire out of ECU, obviously won't be right signal for an ex RB powered Skyline to display RPMs properly.

Any suggestions guys?

I want to use the original tacho, a dinner plate mounted to my dash with a shift light is out of the question.

I dont know if it's possible with the Skyline but we swapped the guts from a q45 tach into the dash of a 240sx. You might also try something like an MSD tach adapter but that might require some extra wiring.

This should work, but it's kind of pricey for what it is.

I think GSRacer used his stock tach and just adjusted it. Not sure how it's done though.

This guy can recalibrate your skyline tach for you. He recalibrates 240SX speedos and tachs all the time for RB swaps. He is recalibrating my 300ZX tach to work with the VH swap as soon as I send him a spare cluster.

I just found this in a 240 discussion. I don't know how accurate it is for your model but I am sure going to try it when it comes time.

"Tach Recalibration. 1. Pull Cluster2. Remove Backin and Clear plastic cover for the gauge.3. Take a sharpie and mark where the needle sits on the gauge face so when you're pulling the needles off you'll know where it sits so its not screwed up when you put them back on, you can also mark the spot it sits on. 4. Remove the gauge faces.5. Where the tachometer face is... there is a variable resistor that you can stick a screwdriver in. 6. Ussually you turn it all the way to the left.7. Once you've done that, do this entire process in reverse order.

Now since all motors are a little different and so are the electrical outputs, you might have to pull it back out, an then turn it a litte more right and a little more right, to get it perfect. Just keep doing it untill you're satisfied or if you have an SAFC it makes it alot easier to calibrate.

When using the sharpie on your gauge cluster, to get the stuff off, all you need it some axe body spray, or some red zone body spray. Apply it to some cloth and dab it onto the area that the sharpie has been applied to and it will either slowly or pretty much instantly come off.

If i left out anything or you're still confused quote and reply to this."

Which wire in ECCS is for the Tach? Can I also ask where do I adapt the TPS closed wire too? Thanx

Probably a little late but my tacho is running directly from the CAS. I have fitted the Q45 tacho into the Patrol dash as it is a direct bolt in to the PCB. ie same type of gauges for everything from fuel to volts!Have taken the power from the crank trigger signal that feed the ecu. I tried the tacho output from ecu but the Q45 tacho takes more to run than it supplies.

W/o engine in yet, there is no too late on the wiring yet...Did you just splice into the cas feed to the ecu, and the ecu does not get too low of a signal? What happened with it hooked up to the #7, did it drain the power to the ecu?Thanx for all the helpful input. Trial and Error input is the best help in the world.

i can't remember the color of the tach wire but it IS in the FSM. It's buried in a diagram of another electrical system but it is in there. You'll have to go through every page in the EL/EC section to find it though. It may even be in the electrical section but I think it's in the EL/EC part.

Location of the tacho wire in the dash plugs near the ECU is in my diagram here: http://www.freewebs.com/chemic...s.wps

Thread on wiring is here: zerothread/282766

That thread absolutely needs to be added somewhere to make it easy to find. I couldn't find it by searching. I had to go back through the forum manually.
