I have done searches about aftermarket tachs, and they all say to hook up to the yellow and red wire coming from your ecu for your tach signal. I have tried everything and i cant get it to work. Anybody else had trobles hooking up there aftermarket tach? It is a 5" Autometer. Thanks

The problem here is that it's too big of a tach. There's another one like right in your dash that can work.

You guys are such haters.

Unfortunately I can't help. Try rpsport.net or .com...they may be able to help. Steve is the man.

How many wires come out of the tach? I'd assume 3? Tach signal, ground and some sort of power?

Your tach signal would connect to the yellow wire with red stripe coming off the ecu. Also take a look at the actual tach, is there any wires that form a loop? If so you may have to cut one for it to work with a 4cyl motor since those things are universal and need to work with all sorts of setups.

Nope, it was working perfectly. I sold it because I pretty much hate the digital cluster :)

Plus, I got a DOHC analog cluster and sub-harness from my friends parts-car (theft recovery :-x) for free!

Turns out the one from ebay was a SOHC so it won't work for me, so I've got to get around to selling it some day.

I'm assuming you've done the power ok, any switched 12v source, ground to chassis, and for the tach signal wire is the third wire from the left on the upper section of the 2nd bank of the ecu wiring harness if you're looking at it from the back.
