My car didn't come wired for a tach and I'm putting one in. Which wire coming from the distributer has the tach signal? The engine is a KA24DE from a 95 240. Thanks

What car do you have? Not wired for a tach? That's strange.

a 510... man, you lucky dog. I want one of those sooooo bad. Anyway, you can get a signal directly from the KA24DE ECU. The tach wire from the ECU should be Yellow with Red stripe.

you have a signal coming from the ECU but you can also get it from the coil.

the postive terminal on the coil. If you look at the instructions for any aftermarket tach it will tell you how to wire it up using the coil.
