I have a 95 240 and the tach jumps all over when it's running. Now it doesnt work at all? Anyone know what the problem could be?

check the following plugs - at the transmission, ecu and back of the instrument cluster.

It's also possible that the tach has kicked the bucket. But see if there's a tach signal coming out at the ecu plug.

how would you check for a signal out of the ECU?

a multimeter could do it. car on, probe on the signal wire, another on a ground and test. as the rpm climb, the signal should too.
