Tach Problem

So after I moved my car today and turned it off I noticed that the tach was slow to return to 0 and it ended up just being stuck at 1k. Does this have to do with wiring or is it something mechanical inside the cluster?

Also when I drove it to work the RPM's just kind of stayed in between 1 and 2.5.

I'd double check any wiring you've done lately.Painted anything inside?

Your Tach could just be going bad.Your Alternator could be going bad.You might just have a bad connection/ground in the tach circuit somewhere.
