Tach Options

I just got my sr20det put in my 1990 240sx and I have heard the SOHC Tach will not work with a DOHC engine is this correct? If so will any aftermarket tach work with the engine? Also if the SOHC Tach wont work for the time being I need to get some tach RPMs for MPH.

Yes, it's true that a sohc tach won't work with a dohc engine. Your easiest option is to buy a jdm s13 cluster, remove the tach, and swap it into your usdm cluster.

That's what I did. That way it's clean looking, and you have the proper redline on the tach.
