tach on 05 QX-56 wont work?

Hi everyone, I have a 2005 QX-56 and the tach would work sometimes when I first got it but now it never works and I really want to have one without having to buy a new cluster. Can I install a small aftermarket tach and if so are there instructions on where the ecu is and what pin to connect the signal wire to? My other question question is will a armada (NON-DIGITAL) cluster work in my QX? Thanks for your help
