Can tap from coilpack wire, but ECU would be much easier and less messy.

The stock tach will be plenty accurate up to 9k rpm, waste of money for aftermarket tach IMHO.

Which wire and how would the ECU be cheaper if your just tappin a wire? the reason i dont want to tap the ECU is it gives a funky signal...like for my turbo timer....i dont know why though....im guessin cuz if the wirein being all spliced together there a couple times over.

My AVC-R taps the ECU RPM signal and gives a perfect signal, I don't know if you might have a bad connection or something.

Always solder your connections, don't cheap out by using the twist and tape method.

ECU would be less messy not cheaper, as you don't have to run wires to the engine bay.

I am not sure which wire on the coil pack, but its the one you clamp your timing light to. If you have one, test it and find out.

3m also has vampire clips to splice into wires. works pretty well too.

but soldering is always better.
