tach install

ok i know you guys all hate the big tach in a car but i cant see mine fer crap so dont give me greif about putting one in plz .

so where do all these wires go i tryed to wire the tach straight in by adding the green wire to pin 103 aka tach signal but the tach is jumpy as hell.

autometer says to splice the 9177 adapter between the green w/white stripe wire going to the coils bfore the wire splits into 4 fer the coils.

is this wire in the dash some where? becaulse i tore the engine harness open all the way till it gets to the fire wall and only two of the green/whitestrip coil wires were junctioned together at that point .

theres got to be a better place to find this wire rather than rip my dash out to get at the harness as it comes thro the fire wall anyideas guys?

if someone could just tell me some detailed instructions on how the heck to install this thing that would be great thx fer the help.

oh its a autometer cobalt 5" w/lite going into a 04 specV thx again

Yeah, the best way is to go through the FSM and find the ECU pinout and/or the dash harness diagram. Between those two you'll find somewhere to tap into the right wire. It's under the EC portion of the manual. Link is in my sig.
