I am going through a recently acquired Max, and the tach is dead in it. Wondering if anyone else has this problem and whether it's common or not.
More importantly, if we assume it is the tach itself, is it serviceable, or must I consider looking for a new cluster?
The needle basically is motionless most of the time but it will on occassion move and then stop at any point in the dial, 2K, 7K, whatever. It has a mind of its own.
Any insight on diagnosis / repair is appreciated...
Craig
