hey guys,

i ran a search and found a couple of threads regarding this topic. one gentlemen "i think" used a JDM S13 BMC instead of his OE to fix this problem.

another, used a 1990 300zx tt because the brake lines pertruded the from the right (driver side) of the BMC instead of the left (passenger side) where the T4 and downpipe collide with the lines. my understanding is that this BMC bolts directly on to the 240's booster (i don't care to change it from auto. to man.). however, i think this is my best shot!

if anyone can shed some light on this topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

im running a 1995 240sx w/ KA24DE.

thanks in advance,

- DOHCTA

Both of those would have been RHD masters. If you do a banjo fitting off the master it's really close and you'll probably have to dent your strut tower in a bit. If you don't do banjos you'll practically have to cut a bit out of your strut tower to make everything fit.

I have a R33 master in mine and I'm not happy with how it fits without cutting out some of the strut tower.

It will be the same as what you have in there, other than the size of the cylinder itself. You would have to find a RHD master cylinder

That's just a generic picture. Here is a actual z32 mater pic

abs version, not that it makes any difference.

Maybe, you'll get clearance to 1/2" or so off the master. Just keep in mind the turbo can help warm the fluid up really well.

You won't find them at autozone or a hardware store. If you have a GOOD hydraulic shop near you they might be able to do something for you, otherwise your going to be looking online.

Short of getting a smaller turbo/different manifold setup, another option is potentially get the regular/slimmer brake booster (if you have the automatic/abs one that sticks out further).

I see a lot of s14's w/ the longer brake booster (not sure if this was also because they were automatic or not), switching to the shorter s13 manual one gives you another 1/2" - 1" or so of clearance depthwise.

Also, if it's the dump pipe that is hitting, you could potentially redo the dumppipe instead of screwing around w/ brake lines.

If you show a picture w/ your exact problem, it may be helpful.

Didn't even think of that. The S14 manual transmission one is even smaller.

thanks for all your input guys.

i'm acquiring an s13 manual brake booster as we speak & we'll see if that gives me enough clearance, perhaps with the banjo fittings..

im aware that i'll have to customize some type of heat shield and mount it between the DP and BMC.

thanks again!

hey guys, I was facing a similar issue, (i used an automatic booster when mine went bad, S14's are hard to find in the junkyards) so before I go to the junkyard, the S13 manual booster will fit in an S14?

thanks!

Fits just fine, you'll have to tweak the lines a little but thats it.
