I have a couple new questions to add to the original context of this post down there.

1. How long can i be running 6-8 psi on stock internals? (Daily spirited driving habits with some weekend drifitng).

2. Is selling this turbo for $250 a better idea and buy another (perhaps better) turbo?

3. If you answered yes to question 2, which turbo better suits the application?

again, read the rest bellow for more in depth info.

So i just got this turbo from a friend. If you cant see it in the pics....

it says : TURBOCHARGER TYPE: T04E PART NO. T3/T4 SERIAL# EMO7010100.58 A/R = Exhaust turbine housing....i have no info on the wheel trim or compressor housing

So anyway...my friend says it is freshly rebuilt...There isnt any shaft play at all.....spins freely though. Everything was plugged prior to pics.

So im looking to gain 200-230WHP on stock KA24DE Internals. (97,000mi)Im looking for full boost (6 to 8 psi?) to be reached at around 2800-3000 RPM

According to this thread:http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6263

this turbos potential surpasses that of my goal.

Questions: Is this turbo still a good candidate for that goal^? or am i better off getting a t28 instead.

What other parts would be recommended for a good setup?

Also if anyone knows how much these turbos sell for. (rebuilt)

that sort of looks like a chinese turbo......that turbo will be good for your goals so long as it doesn't grenade itself after a couple of miles, you can get those turbos new for like $150 on xspower website.

you don't need an safc2 if you are going with an emanage, for 6-8psi you more than likely wont need to tune the timing, tho i'd recommend a tuned ecu for the sake of it.

If you are going to be running only 7-8 lbs all you really need is an FMU. Search for that and read all about them, it's the cheapest and safest route for a low boost setup. If you get an SAFC then you will need a wideband O2 sensor/gauge to properly use it. Without one your fuel map is literally a shot in the dark.

Wow a thread jack if I've ever seen one. No, don't even rebuild it if it runs well. Do a compression check and if the numbers are good just boost it. Then when it blows up rebuild it, but 7 psi doesn't warrant forged anything.
