I got my hands on a turbonetics t04b super h .63 ar turbo, and considering using it on my ca. From searching I didn't find any posted issues with closing the hood, or clearance issues with a wastegate hitting the fender wall.

Can anyone give a heads up on things to watch for or to expect when installing a turbo like this. I've read on the sr part of the forums a problem with ebay top mount manifolds colliding the turbo with the master brake cylinder, so recommendations on manifolds will be helpful too.

Thanks!

Any possibility that any of your fabricators will make another one for me and the cost?

Those ebay manifolds will definitely cause you some clearance issues. I have one on my car and had to modify the hell out of it, but it functions just fine with no leaks and a properly sitting turbo.

Dee, just curious, where did it not clear? I believe your using a similar turbo the t04e - right?

I was just chatting with someone who has an ebay manifold, he informed the turbo cleared, but had limited room for exhaust/intercooler piping.

I have a ebay top mount manifold running with a T3/T4 .50 and I dont really have any clearence issues.

It does however run REALLY close to the BMC. I havent had any problems with my brakes or boiling the fluid yet though. No leaks on the Mani and I boost just fine.

well as you can see right here, EBAY manifold (altho re welded, its unmodified) clears with about 1/2" to spare on the brake master... I see no issue with this other than the heat, which is easily remediable with a turbo blanket, but ive had no heat issues.
