I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING AND I NOTICED EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THESE TURBOS BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN IF IT IS A DIRECT REPLACEMENT OR IF YOU NEED MAJOR CUSTOM WORK. BTW IM REFERING TO A RB20DET, IF CUSTOM WORK IS NEEDED WHAT IS IT?

well in my case i'm using a spacer we had made and pulling out the studs and puting in longer ones to make the compressor housing fit...was all going good until one of the studs broke....

It's hard to find internally wastegated T3/T4's, when you do they usually can only handle like 7 psi, that's my issue with them. That's also why when I upgrade I might get a Super 16G or Super 20G...Internally wastegated, T3 flange, and it can handle a lot of boost and make good power. The mitsubishi guys swear by them and they have good results on the DSM's.

If you can find a good turbo shop you can get your stock rb 20 turbo fitted with a new core and a t3/4 wheels put in. then it will be a bolt is . yes a t3/4 should fit it jsut depends how much room is there the flange is t3 on the rb20. meggala

i welded a 13mm spacer...basicly a t3 flange onto the manifold and the new turbo bolts on....also welded in a EGT bung.

and the stock turbo's on the 20's are kinda odd. it's basicly a t2/t3 but the exhaust housing is the size of a t28. but with a t3 flange.

and a t3/t4 with internal waste gate can handle more than half BAR. i'm sure of it. I plan on about 1.3 bar.

i love metrics....but what i really love is meggalas cefiro...

It's just what I see on the internal gated T3/T4's...I'd LOVE it if you'd point me towards an appropriate T3/T4 :) I could very well be wrong!

Isn't 1.3 bar like 19psi?? are you building this for a daily driver. also aren't the 20/25 turbos the same. I mean arnt they the same setup and interchangable.

The 16Gs/20Gs do not have a T3 flange, and most people with DSMs run external gates with them. Good street turbos, but a little anemic for serious power.

It's funny though--most people who have DSMs want to upgrade to a Garrett-based product.

? one bar is 14.7 .... One bar is 14.503774 pounds per square inch.(1 bar = 14.503774 psi)

1.3 bars are 18.854906 pounds per square inch.(1.3 bar = 18.854906 psi)

so call it 19psi. and yes it's a daily drifter er i meen driver.

and i have set the rb20 and 25 turbos side beside and i cant see a difference but,i got a quote from zoom mag with the JMS rb20s13.....said it's bolts rite on and has a larger compressor giving cooler boost at 1 bar. said it bolts rite on and is good for 10kw upgrade.

Yeah, wasn't paying much attention to the post. I thought he said "1 Bar".

Yes I was right!!:ylsuper Anyway That is my plan also but I plan to run 9 or 10 daily and 18-20psi on the track. Just trying to find all the parts I need (fuel, mafs, turbo) I am thinking of trying to find a turbo with similial specs to the RB25 HKS kit. Puts out good power. So can you post or send me the specs on the turbo you got in the pics. Oh and price and where you got it. Thanks.
