So, I now find myself with a T3/T4 turbo for my KA(95 S14), but I don't have an elbow or downpipe. What are all my options? The SR elbows will fit, but I don't know if the bends are right to work. If I get one would it have the clearance and work with a custom downpipe?

I'm looking around at JGS, IAP etc, and I need the most cost effective application.

Why do I need the cheapest thing? I can't have a job.

Also, are the applications that much different between SR/KA & S13/S14 for elbows and downpipes? Thanks.

It all depends on what manifold you are using. If you a top branded manifold(i.e. peakboost, iap, full-race, revhard) most of the companies sell downpipes for the particular manifold. But, most likely it will have to be custom.

Find an elbow that will fit your turbo, and modify it to fit.Make it longer or whatever it needs. When your broke, you will have to learn to be creative.

I have my old iap setup for sale but your pinching pennies seems like.

I am definitely pinching pennies lol. going with what I can throw at it piece by piece. I mean if you'll sell me the d/p you have for your IAP kit what am I looking at?

I'm probably going to pick up some parts from it (oil lines & hotpipe) since you might part out.

right now I'm going for cheap and reliable until I get some money to make it fast. I just need a little boost in my life.

I use the JGS top-mount mani, and the 'elbow' downpipe that came with it. Mated that to a Megan Racing downpipe to the cat. I choose MR strictly because of the flexpipe section, allows everything to fit a little better when it heats/cools.

So what do you suggest, get a T3 flange and just take the flange to an exhaust shop or would it be better if I had my own downpipe for them to modify.Or should I say which would be more cost effective lol.

It would most likely be quicker to take it to an exhaust shop with the right flanges and have them make a downpipe to connect the turbo outlet right to your cat. Cost would be roughly the same I think.

The only way you'll get it much cheaper is if you buy the materials online for a lot less, but then they will charge you higher labor most likely.

i have the ssac top mount mani for my t3/t4 and I'm pretty sure they don't make a dp for that. So I bought the t3 outlet flange from ATP for like 30 bucks and a ss 3" 90 degree bend took my car to the local muff shop and they welded me up a bitchin one that snaked its way around the steering shaft.

Muffler shop charged me $150+$30 for the flange+$45-ish for the ss 90 degree bend=$225 for a full ss dp-not bad IMO

So, Uh, Who in Florida has a welder? There were a few classes in my autobody course about welding, but I need more practice, this is as good a time as any to start project 2: weld your own d/p, save money!

I wouldn't have minded the welding, just the part where I needed 3" stainless steel mandrel bent piping to clear the steering shaft.

Bumped and added to recent threads... thank you

most muffler shops that deal with a high volume of cars will do this for you, for real cheap. bring them the flanges and they'll fab you a pipe, and bend it to spec for between 80-100$ or less. or buy an beay downpipe and have them fab and lengthen it.

and then reinforce the crappy welds with an extra layer.
