How would a T3 from a z31 perform on the KA, and what can the turbo produce boost wise(like say 16 max PSI)? Also if it can work good, will getting a bigger fan on the exhaust size help the turbo kick in good at the lower RPM range?

a bigger exhaust wheel (or turbine wheel as the correct term is used) would cause you to have more lag.

The compressor on a Z31 T3 is too small to be safe at 16psi on a KA. My buddy was running one and never pushed it past 10 for safety sake. I'd say 12 would be about the limit.

so a smaller turbine wheel would be better, I guess the exhaust can more the smaller one faster and quicker due to less weight? How would 10PSI perform on a KA w/ proper management!

Also, on a T3 manifold, are their alot of upgrades that can be done, or does the upgrades determined by the wastegate?

hey man lemmie say that thats a great turbo for stock. my 89 z31 puts out 30 extra hp from the turbo than n/a version and thats just with 3 to 4 psi. Plus you can pick one up at a junkyard pretty cheap.

i wish i knew where to get a good manifold to put one on my 240...hint hint

Build a manifold. Unstable-Hybrids did up one for a local 240 member, he's running a Z31 T3, Z32 MAF, Saab 9000 FMIC, DSM blowoff valve, and a Super AFC. The car is very lively, with boost coming in at 3k rpm, he's regulating it to 8psi and it's quick. Whole setup is cheap and easy to get.
