im looking at turbos at westcoast-turbo.com...the t3 60 trim is 330 and the super 60 is i think 50 bucks or so more.

how much of a difference is there between these turbos? im looking to turbo this summer with low boost, and eventually turning it up, im going for 300-350hp in the end.. any suggestions??

i tried googling the difference but didnt come up with anything..

The best sized turbo for our engines is a t3/t4. If your going to go for a cheap turbo, look at xs-power.com's t3/t40e hybrid.

sweet thanks..id much rather get the more efficient t04e compressor..it was just a lot more expensive from westcoast turbo, and the straight t3 would still get me the power i was looking for. the xspower is a great price though

i know ive seen things around here about the xspower turbos but i dont remember what it was. are they of comparable quality to the garretts?

also are their 35mm wastegates any good? reliable?

Not to contradict you but isn't XS-Power the ebay company that people got epoxied together turbos from? Who used to be SSAC? The sight looks pretty reliable but the same. I mean there dirt cheap on ebay. I'm just looking for as little clarification on the topic.

^ I think that was Power XS. Different company!

Here's a old thread on the super 60.zerothread?id=101057

Also, search super 60. Dont forget to check the 'archive' circle for older threads.

The best size turbo for any motor is dependent on the goal and use of the motor itself. You can't generalize turbo selection like this. I prefer efficient top end power and would choose a straight T04E. A T3/T4 hybrid is a good compromise for those looking for really good response and boost threshold with a decent top end, but you will be compromising some efficiency throughout.

I think the super 60 is a great turbo for mild boost. I run 12psi on mine and have very low lag, great power, and it holds up great even after 6k rpms... i usually take to 6,800rpms in first, and 6,300-6,500 in the rest of the gears without the power dropping off too much.

For what it's worth... westcoast-turbos.com is on the "Deadbeat Advertiser" list. I guess they tried becoming a sponsor for Nico and took a free ride for a while without paying or something. I wouldn't personally use them. You can find the same deal, if not, BETTER from one of the sponsors of the forum. AND you will get superior customer service! zerothread/189499

All the sponsors I've ever used have always given me the best of the best of everything!

i'm using the 60 trim t3 running at 17 psi and its really NICE. but i'll be going with a t04e for the next turbo. ur choice of turbo will depend on ur goals for the car.

Agreed 100%, use the .48 AR hotside if you want instant boost. Our CEO AZHitman uses this very turbo, he's making a great deal of power and has NO lag to speak of.

funnt how some people diss ssaa and xs without ever owning an item. SSAA alone got 100% feedback on ebay after 40k+ sales i wonder how if it's all crappoolis that they sell.

99% of the people who leave feedback leave it on the basis of a visual inspection and a rating of shipping & handling time. Giving the seller an A+++ rating will usually get the seller to give them a good buyer rating back, It's a fair trade off for auction sites. The real feedback comes from people who have used them, Like on nico. I wasn't one of the lucky people to get a compressor epoxied together or have my wastegate flange blow off, but some people did.

Not to threadjack and im sorry. It was just a recommended brand name so I thought people needed to look into the topic before buying a lesser quality product under a good brand name.

You'd be surprised how many of us have owned them and inspected them and are educated in welding...like myself for instance. I've owned the top and bottom mount SSAC mani. I was going to use them a long while back when I was going to sell turbo kits on the side. The manifolds were poor in comprison to what I consider to be quality. The welds weren't very good, the collector was ugly and the port matching was awful. That being said, they are cheap enough to warrant a little diy porting and cleaning. If it breaks I can reweld it.

It is simple fact that they are LOWER quality then just about any of the available manifolds on the market today. To argue anything else is useless. Thee SSAC is useful on a budget build. For 50-100 bucks you can't go wrong.
