i found a good deal on a full t4 kit for the ca, and i was wondering if any of you guys have had any luck with these bigger turbo's. How bad is the lag on these, i still want something that spools good, but i also like the power, so if you guys were looking for about 270-300 rwhp, would you go for a t28 and push it to the limits or have a bigger kit. I just dont want something with terribl lag

Just remember that if this was a Japanese kit, the chances of it clearing the Brake Master Cylnder are slim to none. As for the lag, that totally depends on manifold design and the specs of the turbo. I'm not sure that I would use a full T4 setup on a CA unless I was going to drag race it, but that's just IMHO...

so the ones on ebay, most likely will not fit, so it sounds like i would be better off going with the t28

If you are looking for up to 300hp, stick with the T28 Ball bearing, other wise you will hate the lag on the T4.

T4 as Ryan said for drag racing which means you need the engine be build up to take this kind of boost and you need to build your top end as the T04 turbo will generate the power at much higer rpm .

A T4 turbine housing would be ludicrous on the CA. If you are talking about a T3/T4 then that is a different story. I hope you are not talking about the SSAuto kit. One of the members on here said the turbo was a POS and not even what it was described as. Plus, there is a thread in one of the honda forums about the compressor housing literally splitting into two halves.

T88Lexus has a T4 turbine, he says he sees boost at like 4k or something pretty surprising. It's a fairly recent thread and you may want to search for it. Still, T4 and 300whp do not belong in the same setup. Best/easiest turbo for that is a 2871R w/ a .64 turbine housing. 270 can be had fairly easily with a T28.

Search for "T4 and spool" or "turbo and power" etc. in the CA forum archived or recent content for more information.

A T4 on a CA is outrageously too much. These turbos sold by the vendor on ebay are not something you would attach to a CA motor and think that you're going to go out and out-accelerate honda civics and accords. This 270-300whp that everyone is chasing can be obtained with a T3/T04B stage 1 wheel with a .63 rear housing. Boost is in full by 4200rpm and will hold pretty much throughout your redline. Excellent driveability and is very cheap on replacement if one should ever fail. Ball bearing units will cost more later if one of them should ever fail. You will need at least a set of 500cc injectors to support such a quest. I've been down this road long ago and knows what it takes to get this engine to desired hp levels. 300whp can be done, but being cheap is not an option. Remember this, if you're looking for fast spool-up, then you may want to stay with your T25 set and just get it upgraded. Moving to an Sr T25 or T28 with a bigger rear housing will cause more lag. The SR20 flows more CFM than the CA. From factory, nissan attached the T25 with a .48 rear housing because they had done the math and figured the .48 housing would allow the engine to shine. Attaching a bigger turbo to this engine will definitely slow down boost response also called "LAG", but the power will be more efficient. Hope this helps.........

Yea i currently have the sr t25 on my car and i am just looking for a little more power than that, i had td06 20g on my mr2, and the damn thing would not get full boost until like 5000 rpms, so i am just looking for the best turbo setup out there with good power, but not tons of lag
