Hey i just obtained this turbo and was told that it was a T28 turbo but doesnt look anything like the ones i see in pics. I was going to make a hybrid by putting the T28 compressor and housing on my T25 since the seals on this turbo are said to be gone. What do you guys think? Any info will be greatly apreciated. Is this turbo ball bearing and what vehicle does it come off and will it be wise to try to make a hybrid out of it? Thanks for any help in advance. Pics below.

No part number. Only number on it is what is on the compressor housing and then X04A 16V on the Turbine housing... It is the second turbo i have that has NISSAN written on it that no one seems to be able to identify. I got a big one from a VQ30 that i was desperately trying to get info on couple months ago since it seems like a VERY good upgrade to the T25 on my car now. Its alot bigger and ball bearing and made by nissan and has no part number just like this one.

pic of the VQ30 turbo below

Any info on these 2 nissan turbo's would be GREAT!

Dude, how many turbo's do you think are out there? There are one HELL of a lot. We would really need numbers, past car history, something to go on.

That first turbo looks like a Z31 turbo, it has a 6-bolt turbine side flange, thats where I'd start as nearly all of the modern Nissan turbos have 5-bolt or 4-bolt flanges.

Thanks alot so far nismo_freak. I just opened it up today and it is ball bearing. Cleaned the whole thing up and still no part numbers anyway. Would an older turbo like one from the Z31 be Ball Bearing?

Well thats odd. There is a ball bearing just before the turbine wheel and then the compressor actually sits and rides on a ball bearing which is the first time i have seen that. Normally it is just the shaft but the compressor wheel actually rests up against the bearing housing and rides on a ball bearing... There are very few markings on the turbo at all...

Could it be a CA18DET T22 turbo? I have a friend with one, i will ask him about the flange on the exhaust housing.
