i'm in the process of my ca swap, and engine is in no hang ups, then POW!the downpipe doesn't clear the framerail i remove it and proceed to wail the @#$% out of it to create a little room. i can only get two of the three bolts in !!!!! to morrow i am going to remove it all then install it as one peice. may be the t28 puts it in a fangled position.?? i knoe the oil lines and coolant lines had to be persuaded.

Which T28 are you using? I heard issues with the GTiR T28, but not the S14/S15 turbos.....

i thought that everyone has clearance issues with the SR downpipe and elbow and the solution is to hack the downpipe as necessary and reweld.

Yeah, I have read that here as well. And I thought, why not use a ssautochrome CA18DET housing? Its right there on the site, NeedCA has one on his car.

You guys are getting confused.... if you use an SR downpipe, you need an SR O2 housing. If you use the CA O2 housing, THEN you need to cut and reweld the SR downpipe.

im going to have to cut my SR downpipe and remove 2-3inches of it to gain more ground clearance. its laying on the ground and i still want to drop the car another inch or two.

Anyone think this could be caused by not using CA specific engine mounts? If the engine sits differently it will tweak the exhaust to one side....right?

From the varied stories that I've heard I think it has to do with the combination of O2 pipe and down pipe you are using and what motor mounts you are using. I would just plan on a cut and reweld. It's not a big deal really. ANY muffler shop should be able to kick that out in a couple of min. I would just cut it yourself, bolt it up loosely and mark it so you know what direction you want it welded and take it down somewhere to have it done. They couldn't charge you much for it.

i am using 1 ka mount and 1 sr mount.

i have my passengers side ka on my passengers side thean a passengers side sr on the drivers side (you are supposed to flop them ) then just re-inforced them with some window weld lol and it works fine.

i am using the sr t25 with the .80 ar and my down pipe fits great.

also, not_a_sr make shure to check your front sway bar clearence when lowering it that low, my car was lowered alot but ground cleraence for every part of my car sucekd so i lifted it back up a little, check especially if yoy have whitleine sway bars i heard they sit lower than stock also.

I think your motor mounts are part of the problem. At set of all 3 motor mounts is only a couple hundred bucks.

As for the anti-swaybars, I didn't have a problem. I used Whitelines with Eibach Sportlines without a problem.

I'm using:

-CA motormounts (engine is real low and back further than most CA swap pictures I've seen and cars I've seen in person)-s13 SR20 t25g turbo-SSautchrome SR20 o2 housing (the cast one, not the divided wastegate one)-BRM SR20 downpipe and test pipe-wrapped with header wrap (because it hits on my frame rail slightly at idle, so after wrapping it, I don't hear it anymore)
