Hey people! New to the forums! Just had a quick question, not 100% sure if I'm posting in the right thread section or not. But here goes!
Is there a big difference in between the T25 and T28? Spool time? Power gains? etc. I have an S14 SR in my S13, and it came with a T25 when I bought it (original T28 blew according to the last owner) I'm debating even using this turbo on the motor, but it seems like I might have to, I need to get the car on the road 2 weeks from now. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Also, is there any other factory T2 turbos equipped in any other cars that would work on my SR? Thanks.

most people will tell you to use a t28... why do you think they used t28 on the S15 rather then the t25 on the S13... aye?

T28 can be rebuilt replacing the center section but your better off getting a new, if you can get a t25 for now you can use it, but make sure the feed line is correct and not a bb restrictor

Thanks peoples! Yeah, I realize the T28 is better, but Im wondering if I can make roughly the same power running the T25 at 12-14 psi than the T28 at, lets say 10psi.

A T28 will flow more air, but I don't know how much power you'll make at 10 psi.
You'll probably risk maxing out your injectors with a T25 at 14psi or a T28 at 10.

I was maxing out my 370cc injectors on my KA with a GT28R.

you can run with the T25 but you'll be much happier with say a GT2871 or even GT2860r.

Hmmm, I know of a lot of people running 14+ psi on redtop SR's with T25's. As far as I know, they had no problems :S
I just figured the T28 will have to work less to make 10 psi, than the T25 on same boost level.

You can run a T25 at those boost ratings, but it's outside the compressor's efficiency range. After 14, all their doing is feeding hot air and risking blowing the turbo. Factory S13 SRs are designed to max out fuel wise at the 13 psi range. Turbo maxes, MAF maxes, injectors max. S14s run the same injectors and MAF I think, but with the T28 can put better numbers down with better spool times, but will hit the same fuel limit as S13s.

You can stick with the T25, but I would consider nabbing a used S14 T28 or a brand new S15 T28. They're identical save a few techy upgrades like the S15's Inconel turbine wheel. The T28s are technically T25s btw according to Garret, they're just better designed for flow and efficiency. If you want over 250 at the wheels, you'll need to upgrade the fuel system.

Although these news are quite dissapointing, it's very helpful. Thanks a lot! For next summer, I'm looking to do a GT3076R anyways, and I'm sure I'll have to get a new MAF (or just get a standalone) bigger injectors, FPR, etc.

So if I want to run 14 psi on lets say a T28 within the next couple of months, I would need a new
-MAF
-Injectors
Anything else?

Fuel pump if you haven't done so already.
How's your clutch?

I have an in-tank Walboro 255 fuel pump, and Stage 2 Bully clutch kit (came with swap)
