mmm...im not exactly sure what to say....its laggy but it also depends what your a/r's are and what trim it is....i have a t04b im putting on which is smaller than the E series if i do believe...mine will provide max boost at 3800 rpms...that might be around 4500 to 5000...dont quote me on that though...

Louie what is the A/R for your turbo. Im not exactly sure if my turbo is a B or an E. On the compressor housing it only says T04 and Ive only heard of T04e so i just guessed and posted that my turbo was a T04e.Opps. If u can get back to me on that it would be helpfull

I'll take it from ya.It'll be find.Although I prefer for boost to hit later on.Might have to run less than 8lbs depending on your setup.Got anything else besides just the 370's for your fuel?

that shouldnt be a laggy turbo at all. laggy would be boost coming on at 5000 rpms or later IMO

Hi Guys,

My opinion is that if you are using hi compression pistons the t04 will be perfect. Sacrifice a little at the take off but get it all at top end...That's how i like it..

I recently found out, that high compression pistons + turbo = BOOM

so thats not a good idea

Tuning is what makes you go boom.Lack off or incorrect.

A/R without knowing if you are running a T3 or T4 hotside is worthless.

If you are running a full T4, meaning T04E cold side / T4 hotside with those A/Rs you will have a good amount of lag.

If you are running a T3/T4 setup then you will have relatively normal lag.

This is assuming you are running moderated trims.

You'll also want to know the trim. Actually, probably even moreso than the A/R. The trim on the turbine side will especially have a great effect on boost response and threshold. A 0.69 A/R on the turbine side is not necessarily laggy. On a smaller T4 Trim, you are looking at full boost of 7-8 psi at about 3500 to 4000 RPM. That is not very laggy. With a turbine trim on the large side for a T4, then you'll probably lag heavily regardless of A/R. You guys really need to start paying attention to and considering the trim of a compressor and turbine wheel when discussing turbos.

It'll work, I have a TO4E I was running on my RB20 for awhile. It had a .81 AR exhaust side and a 60-1 compressor. It wouldn't spool till 4900-5000. But that was a motor with 7.5/1 static compression and a manifold that was drilled for a T4 but the flange itself was a T3, so I didn't get optimum flow.

But definitly find out what the trims are.

Hey Alan, did you see where he asked about the T4? I didn't see a mention of T3/T4 anywhere but your post.

.58 exhaust....ahh you will be fine...yes the trim levels are important but that turbo wont be that laggy...your a/r is smaller than mine so dont worry man

btw....your 370cc injectors are good for 250hp...think about upgrading....maybe a mustang 4.6 gt fuel rail...and some 450cc dsm injectors w/ inline resistors...and SAFC and you will be fine to 300hp...

p.s. and stock compression is fine...DONT ever do high compression and boost....ive been turbocharging cars for 5 years now and researched for 7....i know what im talking about when it comes to boosting an engine...

Mustang 4.6 fuel rail? Is that a joke or does it fit?

With new mounts the 4.6 rail will work. The #4 injector is slightly cocked. But I ran 45 psi static pressure with 15 lbs of boost added on a 1/1 FPR with no leaks. I used 2 adel clamps and some spacers with long bolts to mount the rail.

The turbo has a T4 flange but how do I tell about the compressor. Also is the 4.6 mustang a v6 or v8 probly a v8. And wat years do they come in?
