My newly purchased 1985Z drives quiet and great except for a large about of “noise” from the passenger side t-top handle assembly. It’s like plastic rubbing and creaking constantly. The drivers side is quiet. The only visible difference appears to be the lock bezel is missing on the passenger side but present on the drivers.
Any suggestions on a fix? It’s distracting from the great sound of the car.

Thanks

Is the passenger side unit locked down?

To my knowledge, using a product like Shin-Etsu on the rubber seals (if that's what's creaking) helps a lot.

Thank you! Bought it as per your suggestion and it totally worked. I assumed it was creaking from inside the assembly itself but it was all weather proof seals creaking. No more sound at all! I shin-etsu’d the crap out of all the seals. Thanks !!!

For reference if you need this product you need to get it from Honda. Call the parts dept, part number 08798-9013 shin Etsy silicone grease (everyone may already no this anyways ).
Came the next day, 20 bucks.

You can buy off Amazon

I just picked a tube up, my T-Tops are noisy too, hope this fixes it. I rarely drive with tops on but a ride to LA from SF and back pointed out the need for this big time.
