Hi Ross, sorry for the slow reply, Ive been racking my brain trying to think of something, and Im coming up blank. Ill tell you everything Ive found out so far.
On your picture A and D are not diodes, look like capasitors or something, but not important. The have continuity through them both ways anyways, so theyre not diodes. The only intersting one is "B" since it is connected to the ign circuit I would assume its the diode in question. And heres where things get screwy. I have 2 ecus, my half *** fixed 62 and an untouched spare 63. I checked both items "C" and "B" on both ecus, and both B and C had continuity both ways, which means they're not diodes.
I attached a pic of my fix on 62. I took it to work and had one of the electrical guys fix it, and he told me that B (if it was a diode) was hooped, also that he'd never seen a diode like that before and had no idea where to get one, but he sugested "Japan" I also smoked an E5 ecu (same issue) I fixed it the same way, and it was doing the not shut off thing so I threw it in the garbage. When I plugged in the 62, with the same fix, it amazingly enough shut off with the key off. I tested the B diode on both ecu's, it has continuity both ways. So I am completly confused. All I can say is the diode that runs the ign power must be somewhere else on the board.
The only people who do know what/where are these guys,
[email protected] they told me $60 to replace the diode. I chose to buy the 63 ecu off ebay as a spare for about the same. For a tomei tuned ecu it might be worth it.
