What the article is saying is this:
What ever stock features the G2 has out of the box is fine; but once you start rooting it and changing things around will you see this happen. Every time you turn off than on the G2 if there are alterations to the G2 OS the G2 will then reinstall it's original OS instead of booting up your modified root kit, themes, etc.
