yesterday I got 3 diamond audio 12s and an 1200 watt diamond amp installed but Im not suppost to put the volume past 20 since the bose speakers are still in and they arnt ment for the volume over 20 and the distortion they would produce will blow the speakers as well as the subs and amp.Its an easy solution(get new speakers) but it requires money which I dont have.

But I am planning ongetting the new speakers soon and even getting a x-box 360 fabricated into the glovebox.

This topic really has no purpose but Im sorta mad so I said it.

Good luck with everything. Be sure to let us know how it turns out.

A sound guy showed me a way to tune your system to minumize the distortion.

Turn the gains to there lowest setting on your amp.

Turn the radio on and turn the volume up to the desired setting

Turn the gain on the amp until you get the desired result without distortion(adjust the bass and trebble settings as needed)

I would advise elminating the bose amp setup and upgrade to the door and rear deck speakers and add a good 4 ch amp for them. Depending on the year and age of the system, it may not last long and a good set of coaxial speakers or componet set with desent amp(sony is good for the money) will sound great.(follow the same steps for these speakers also)

I done it to the rear deck and it is not that hard. Wire diagrams can be found to aid in the transformation.

The problem is that the Bose Speakers are running on less than one ome(not sure how to spell it)and the 4 12s are running on 4 omes.I am planing on getting 2 component sets of Diamond Speakers(one for the front and one for the back) and 2 Diamond amps to power them.BTW I dont have the bose speakers amped nor am I using a Bose amp All my stuff is gonna be from Diamond Audio except for the head unit(since I like My flip up dvd player).Ill post pics as soon as I remember to take them ok.

The ohm rating should not come into play in tuning only in wiring the speakers to the amp. The Bose amps are on each speaker. Sounds like you going in the right direction. The steps will work for you future step up.

If you decide to put a 360 in the car, please bear in mind that the 360 is known to severely scratch discs if the 360 is moved while a disc is spinning in the DVD-ROM drive. There are some fixes for this out there, but it does involve opening the 360 and I still wouldn't be 100% confident in it myself. Unless you are only playing downloaded 360 arcade games or media off the hard-drive(even an external hooked up to the 360), it's going to be a rather expensive and limited media player. If someone can ever come out with a mod as flexible as the first xbox, then you may be able to store games on the harddrive and play off the harddrive instead. Keep in mind that the 360 needs plenty of cool air flowing through it. Most errors with the 360 appear to be coming from heat related issues of both the main case and the external power supply. Both need sufficient access to cool air to operate properly. Stuffing in a glove box may be really bad for it. And believe me, these things run hot. I have 2 360's which me and my GF play in the same room. The room gets warm pretty quick when both are on. We pretty much have to increase fresh air content to the room we play in.

If gaming while driving(passengers) is what you want, I would suggest a modded 1st Gen Xbox. I had one on my G35 coupe and it was quite stable playing games off the harddrive directly. Plus you can store as many games as you can fit on the harddrive. I had a 320 GB drive and barely used about 30%, even with music and movies. It is a bit cumbersome to use with media, but very convenient for long trips. I wouldn't hold my breath for a good modchip for the 360 for sometime, if at all. The Security in the 360 is much harder(imbedded in the CPU) to bypass than in the original. I have my doubts that it will ever be modded with even half the flexibility as the original.

Extream auto sound are ouing to basically coustom make a fiberglass structure for it and the only thing of the 360 that will be going into the car is the hardware and mabey the faceplate. Ill make sure to tell them about the heat thing and the movement thing befor they start. They might actually take out the glovebox itself and coustom make that whole section for the 360(and mabey a little storage). All I can say is it will be crazy cool after its done.Ill get pics up on my car asap(mabey tommarrow)
