KA24E Re-manufactured engine 40K run on 10W 30 full synthetic so rings never seated properly. Burns about a quart + every 1,000 miles. Compression tested: 150,150,135,150

Engine building pro said the best way to seat rings was to run non detergent oil for 1,000 miles.

Is there any chance this would work after so many miles? If so, how would one go from synthetic to regular non detergent oil to make this affective? Anyone ever heard of a issue like this?

I have heard of synthetic oil not seating rings properly, I have not heard of conventional oil fixing the problem after 40k miles, but I always start a problem by trying the cheapest solution first......oil change >>> rebuild. You may actually consider having the engine flushed to get rid of all the synthetic before switching the oils but it probaly isn't necessary.

why do yuo think most engine builders tell you to use normal oil first 2 times, then synthetic
