I am going to use mobil 1 synthetic oil in my RB and also synthetic in the transmission(manual). I have never used synthetic before, because I have always owned Rotary cars and they drink a little oil. Any one else using synthetic? Any thing to worry about?

I’m using synthetic mobile one 15-50W on both my cars, (I’m using the heavy weight because I live in south cali, in TX you can use the same), I change it every 5000 miles instead of 3000, and even after 5000 the oil still looks good, once drove 8000 on it, no problems, you defiantly feel the difference with the synthetic. I buy my as a 5 quart jug at Wal-Mart so its about $3.00 a quart.

Regrets: hell no...well it costs three times then regular oil, but you can change it twice less often.

I thinkcheckered member summed it up nicely.I also conur with his chocie of off-the-shelf oil the M1 15w-50 in San Antonio is a good summe oil.

In winter maybe switch to M1 0w-40 ( mostly can only be found at Autozones).

synthetic in a transmission is a bad ideal, just get some cheap oil for the transmission or use gear oil

I guess I will find out. I changed to synthetic transmission and oil over the weekend, but haven't had a chance to drive it yet.
