is there a difference in brand when it comes to synthetic oil? i have a 89 240 with an sr20det blacktop with 29k miles

I personally like Mobil 1, but the addition of a turbo changes the ball game a touch. You might want to do some research on how different oils breakdown with heat.

redline is good stuff. however, if you're using the racing oil formulation, they do not contain any detergents (applies to Redline and Motul). The only racing synthetic oil I know of that does still contain a good detergent package is Royal Purple.

what kind of oil will be best for my sr20det blacktop with 29k miles? what grade of oil will be best for daily driving? 10w-30 synthetic?

I use Royal Purple 10-30 I like it best iv used Moblie one and Redline,But i just like the way my car runs with the Royal Purple,Plus it gains horse power.
