Has anyone used the "new" Sylvania Ultrastars in their older Q45? I have a '92. I was wondering what their life span is...

Thanks

They are rated at VERY low hours, something like 350 hours lifespan or so.....if you get on sylvania website and really DIG IN you can find their official number. The absolute best option for the 90-93 are the 9011 and 9012 HIR bulbs- very expensive, but long life and much brighter than stock and anything else with standard wattage. If you want to look them up, go to http://store.candlepower.com/hirlighting.html and search.

Thanks for the info. I will look up the price, but the price of $25 on that website is a non-issue. First, are they street legal? Also, is the heat an issue for the inside of the headlamp assembly? If the answers are yes and no respectively, then that is great.

heat is not an issue, I have been running them for well over 1 year- street legal is not an issue either, as no one will know you are running anything different from a stock bulb......they are not "blue"
