Does anyone have before and after pictures of how well their headlights illuminate the road using Sylvania Silverstars? Or for that matter, any headlamp upgrades?

No pics, but the difference is night and day (no pun intended).

They're much whiter, but no blue tint. Sharper cutoff, but better illumination. You'll like them - trust me.

Spend the extra $$$ and get the hi and lo, the hi beams are spectacular.

i have Sylvania CoolBlues, which are no longer blue because of DOT restrictions, and they work well. Insanely bright. But, i dont know what size bulbs fit in the Q, these are 9004s.

Anyone know if they make them H1? Never seen 'emI'm a huge hater of ricey blue bulbs and crap like that, but the silverstars look great. . very subtle, and non-ricey.

Kouki, there are tons of Vette's, whether that is good or bad, I dunno. But hey, for real check into it and try and make it if you can. It is a great time! And we are getting the dyno most likely (as long as at least 15 people dedicate the money). 35 bucks for 3 runs. I think its worth it, but we need to money as soon as possibly to reserve the dyno!

Jesda,

I just bought a set of SilverStars for my S13 on Sunday. They are a big improvement over stock lights. They are much whiter, at least 30% brighter, and when aimed correctly provide very nice coverage on both low and high beams. They cost $25 each, and took me about 10min to install and 10min to aim. I'd recommend them. :thumbup

Ummmm, no.

First off, they are the brightest you can buy without increasing wattage (which is bad for your harnesses). There's a chart somewhere here on the site that shows an independent tester's results with several brands of bulb - The SS's were far brighter.

Second, HID isn't going anywhere. Automakers are working on ways to combine the brightness of HID with the "throw" of traditional lighting.

ummm...im talkin about the aftermarket ones....govern. are already doing researching on after market HIDs cause there is no limit so they make kits that way too bright then it should be and it can cause accident..so they are thinking about making them illegal to sell..
